Tour of Bakewell

Suitable for: Family, Energetic, Inspiration

Start/Finish: Bakewell Station/Bakewell Station

Length: 3 miles / 5km

Description: This is an energetic little route which is great for an evening blast or for a more sedate tour if time is not limited. Starting either in Bakewell at the old station car park, or just outside the town at Hassop Station (cycle hire), the loop takes in a portion of the Monsal Trail and a nice little bridle path before retuning though Bakewell town centre.

In terms of families, this is only suitable for those comfortable to ride in traffic since part of the route passes through the town centre which is often quite busy.

Map/guidebook: OS Explorer 1:25 000 series, sheet OL24 The White Peak

Best bit: You will be rewarded with dramatic views over the Wye valley after the climb out from Bakewell.
